In Andrew Gee, the father of a young family and a former barrister, the people of Calare have a local MP who is dedicated, understands their concerns and the best way to act on them.

After growing up in Maitland where his father was a local mayor, Andrew studied Economics and Law at Sydney University before he set up a business in Hong Kong with his brothers. He returned to Australia in 1999 and moved to Orange in 2005 with his wife Christina and their four children where he practised as a barrister in the fields of civil litigation and family law.

Andrew’s first foray into politics began in 2011 when he secured the NSW state seat of Orange for The Nationals, winning 74.2% of the two-party preferred vote. In 2015 he backed-up his 2011 result with an 8% increase in the primary vote - 66% - one of the strongest results in the state. The two-party preferred result was 71.7%.

In April 2016, Andrew was nominated and won pre-selection as The Nationals Federal candidate for the seat of Calare. Andrew went on to successfully hold the seat for the party and continues to be a strong voice for the communities of his Central West electorate.
