IMPROVING FACILITIES FOR STUDENTS AT ORANGE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Students at Orange Christian School will benefit from a new multi-purpose hall thanks to a $650,000 Federal Government grant.

Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee today announced the grant alongside Orange Christian School’s Principal, Melissa Brown.

“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities. These upgrades will be a welcome addition to the school and when complete, will include a stage, netball and basketball court, and a store room,” Mr Gee said.

“This is wonderful news for Orange Christian School and comes just in time for Christmas.

“One of the great strengths of our region is our schools. Right across the board we are lucky to have a strong and vibrant education sector.”

Under the program, the Orange M.E.T. School will also receive a $250,000 grant towards the construction of a new classroom block which will include a science lab, music room, food technology room, art studio, collaborative learning spaces and a covered outdoor learning area.

The Federal Government’s Capital Grants Program provides funding for non-government school communities to assist non-government primary and secondary schools to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise may not have access to sufficient capital resources.
