CUMNOCK BOWLING CLUB KEEPING COOL THANKS TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FUNDING

The Cumnock Bowling Club has upgraded its air conditioning system thanks to an $11,000 grant under Round Three of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.

Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee made the announcement during a visit to the Bowling Club alongside members of the Committee.

“The funding has gone towards Stage One of the Cumnock Bowling Club’s roofing project,” Mr Gee said.

“This funding boost from the Federal Government has enabled the club to remove two air-conditioners, which were causing damage to the roof. One of the air conditioners has been relocated, while the air conditioner for the auditorium has been completely replaced.

“These upgrades were essential before work could start on replacing the roof and I’m pleased the Federal Government has supported this project.

“The Club has long been a home to community and family events and these upgrades will serve it well into the future.”

Mr Gee said that Australian Government has committed $22.5 million to Round Three of the Stronger Communities Programme in the 2017 Budget, including $150,000 towards projects in the Calare electorate.
