Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee has welcomed news that the new Molong million-dollar multi-purpose sports complex is nearing completion.
Mr Gee said the Federal Government has contributed $225,000 towards the upgrade, which includes four tennis courts, two netball courts, one full-sized hockey field and one full-sized soccer field on a synthetic surface. The second stage of the project will include flood lighting.
“I’m delighted to learn that contractors have almost finished laying the synthetic surface on the new sports complex, which the Federal Government is contributing $225,000 towards,” Mr Gee said.
“Only last week I was in Molong and called by to inspect progress. Local sporting clubs will be over the moon to have this complex up and running, including the hockey team which currently travels to Manildra each week just to train.”
