NEW PICNIC TABLES FOR BATHURST’S MACHATTIE PARK

New picnic tables will be installed in Bathurst’s Machattie Park thanks to a $5,000 grant under Round Four of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.

Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee made the announcement during a visit to the park alongside Mayor of Bathurst, Cr Graeme Hanger.

“Not only is Machattie Park is a popular place for local residents to come and spend time, but is also common stop for tourists visiting the area,” Mr Gee said.

“I’m delighted the Federal Government is supporting Bathurst Regional Council with this project which benefits the local community and visitors to this wonderful park.

“Delivering upgraded communities facilities like the picnic tables in Machattie Park is just as important as building large infrastructure projects. These facilities are a great meeting place for the community and bring people together.”

Mr Gee said that the Federal Government has committed $22.5 million to Round Four 4 of the Stronger Communities Programme in the 2018-19 Budget, including $150,000 towards projects in the Calare electorate.
