In response to the 2022 storms and floods, I've persistently advocated for our region's welfare, prioritising insurer accountability and community concerns, even directly urging the Prime Minister for a parliamentary inquiry.
Reducing Supermarket Dominance
The Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Foreign Entities Bill 2024 takes a stand against Australia's supermarket giants by gradually reducing their market share to 20% over six years, led by a Commissioner for Food Retailing.
Ban on Foreign Residential Housing Speculators
Many Australians find home ownership increasingly unattainable, but the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Foreign Entities Bill 2024 aimed to alleviate Australia's housing affordability crisis by imposing a two-year ban on non-Australian foreign entities buying residential property.
